I know it's been a while since posting on here! I have some interesting keepsakes, scrapbooks, and newspaper clippings, and probably more stuff, that I need to sort through and post on here.
These items are from Marian F. (Bradbury) Young, my grandma, better known as Nanny.
I went through all of the stuff in the box once, but I have not had time go back through it again and sort things out and get some of it better preserved. What I remember about the items that are in that box are there is an old address book that is full of newspaper clippings from obituaries. There was also some stuff from the Kingsville Baptist Chruch. She also had some scrapbooks, one was from high school which has a lot of neat memorabilia in it. She also had some baby scrapbooks that have all the cards that she must have received, and there were also some magazines that were from the 1950's for women that are all about how to take care of your baby, etc.
I am planning on setting up a work station in our basement so that I can spread all of the items out and see what I have. I'll be scanning and copying what I can. I'm going to try to leave the scrapbooks together, depending on how good of shape they are in. I know in one scrapbook that everything must have been put in with scotch tape, all of which is falling out now.
So I hope to be posting more in the near future of what I have! Oh, also, I have an VHS tape of some old videos from the 1970's, of Alfred and Marian and my dad, mom, aunt, uncle and cousin. My mom had these tapes, which were actually on 8mm video tape that she had put onto VHS. I am going to get that put on to DVD and probably make several copies. I will be glad to share the copies with any family member who would like to have a copy. The video consists of a Christmas, and there is a Tractor pull or some kind of tractor parade, and other miscellaneous recordings.
